    The Energy sector (Oil & Gas in particular) is undergoing rapid energy transition, adaptive change / transformation. The oil price is stable, driving clients’ need to keep innovating and ensure cost efficiency. 


    To do this they are leveraging new technologies, both internally developed and in partnership with the likes of Amazon & Google, as well as creating less-tradition partnerships with start-up tech firms.   


    Chaucer is helping clients reshape the entire way they do business: from selecting exploration targets; to fully automated digital enabled production; procurement/supply chain overhauls; downstream marketing and sales; to global HR and IT transformations. 


    Principal Consultant – Long Term Temp or Independent Contractor

    The Principal Consultant is experienced in leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management. S/he will be accountable for overall project implementation and development plans. S/he will have experience with advanced project management tools and processes and the ability to manage critical situations.

    Specific Background & Responsibilities:

    • 15+ years working experiences in construction engineering in Energy
    • Provide a ‘Safety First’ focus toward safe, timely project compliance and safety
    • Collaboration consultant working with multiple energy construction vendors
    • Senior stakeholder management experiences
    • Understanding of digital Upstream construction
    • Physical construction/construction engineer
    • Architectural design (CAD)
    • Platform construction management/superintendent/general contractor
    • Vendor/Subcontractor Management
    • Strong understanding of speciality trades required for subsea platform construction

    General Project Management Responsibilities:

    • Manage project safety from vendor selection through completion.
    • Lead collaboration between specialty subcontractors.
    • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while meeting or surpassing Chaucer’s standards of quality.
    • Develop Project Plans and Schedules that represent the appropriate level of detail and task interdependency.
    • Provide risk management oversight to assure Risks and Issues are mitigated in a timely fashion.
    • Develop and document high-level strategies for achieving specific objectives or activities (hierarchical strategy, process flow, Final Project Summary, etc.).
    • Research and prepare project metric information including value statements or quantifiable measures that explain/promote/justify Chaucer’s involvement.
    • Facilitate and lead effective meetings.
    • Manage change and/or conflict within any project in an effective, timely, and appropriate manner.
    • Develop accurate resource planning estimates to effectively manage personal personnel workload and maximize individual productivity and revenue generation.
    • Lead (coordinate, facilitate, and motivate) the efforts of the individual, team, client, and other resources associated with project activity.
    • Professionally communicate verbally with a broad spectrum of audiences, ranging from contract trade laborers to senior level executives.
    • Focus to outstanding customer service principles interacting with clients and coworkers.
